Phil Brown is looking forward to the challenge of trying to keep Hull up after learning his side's Premier League fixtures.
The Tigers, favourites for relegation after winning the Championship play-off final, kick off their campaign at home to Fulham.
They will also face defending champions Manchester United on the final day of the season and Brown is itching to get going.
"They don't half whet your whistle," the Hull boss told
Sky Sports News.
Brown plans to prepare his players for their top-flight debut in the same way as they got ready for last term.
Hull will travel to Italy for a pre-season training campaign at the ski resort of Bormio, while they will also play a series of friendlies against the likes of Hearts and Osasuna.
Brown is confident of signing several quality players and feels Hull will put up a good fight.
He said: "I think we will prepare in the same way as we did last year.
"We're taking the boys to a training camp so the preparation will be pretty similar.
"We're going to Bormio, which is about 5000 feet up above sea level so we'll be fit and ready.
Hopeful
"I'm trying to improve the ranks in terms of the quality of the squad. We will be hopefully bringing six or seven players in who have played in the Premier League."
Looking ahead to the clash with Manchester United, Brown added: "It's a great fixture to have on the last day of the season, let's hope I'm still in a job."
Brown disagrees with the suggestion that winning the play-offs has put Hull at a disadvantage.
"As far as we're concerned we're three weeks ahead of everybody, not three weeks behind, in terms of fitness," he said.
"I think it's a fantastic way to get promoted and we're hopefully going to use that momentum at the start of the season."
