Midfielder told he can leave club by manager Coleman

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has informed midfielder Chris Birchall that he is free to look for another club. Birchall was loaned out to SPL side St Mirren for the first half of last season before making just a single Championship appearance for Coventry. And now Coleman has told the 24-year-old, who joined the Sky Blues from Port Vale in 2006, that he is not in his future plans at the Ricoh Arena. "I spoke with Birchy last season and told him that we think it will be best if he looks for another club. I discussed that with his agent too," Coleman told the Coventry Telegraph. "He hasn't been an ounce of bother. He is a really good pro who comes in and does his work and is happy for the team when they win. "He is training with us now and is training really hard and well but he knows the squad I am trying to assemble and it will be hard for Chris to play, but he knows that and he has been a delight."
