Dortmund midfielder on trial at the City Ground

Nottingham Forest have handed a trial to Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sahr Senesie. The Sierre Leonean arrived at the City Ground on Tuesday and featured in the Reds' 1-0 friendly defeat to Sunderland a day later. He was given 45 minutes against the Black Cats and did not look out of place against Premier League opposition. The 23-year-old is expected to be given another chance to shine on Saturday as Forest complete their pre-season preparations with a fixture against city rivals Notts County. Colin Calderwood admits that Senesie needs time to adapt to his new surroundings, but was pleased by what he saw against Roy Keane's men. "He only arrived on Tuesday, so we threw him into things a little," the Forest boss told the Nottingham Evening Post. "It was difficult for him to have any harmony with anyone else, given the time he has had here." Senesie represented Germany at youth level, but has recently been included in the national squad for the country of his birth.
