Gills aim to prevent third straight win for Stanley

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has some selection posers for Saturday's visit of Accrington Stanley. Charlie Daniels is in contention for his Gills debut after arriving on an initial one-month loan from Tottenham and could solve their left-sided midfield problem. Centre-back Leigh Mills, who is also on loan from Spurs, has returned to the squad after recovering from the illness which ruled him out for last weekend's trip to Darlington. But Stimson may opt to keep faith with the same starting XI after they pulled off a dramatic 2-1 win to claim their first victory of the season.

Signing boost

The Gills have also been boosted by the news that midfielder Curtis Weston has signed a permanent deal after initially arriving on loan from Leeds. However, veteran midfielder Nicky Southall is doubtful with a back/hamstring problem after coming off the bench at the Darlington Arena. Accrington boss John Coleman may also name an unchanged line-up as they look for a third straight win. Stanley have bounced back from their opening-day defeat by Aldershot to beat Port Vale and Macclesfield. Midfielder Robert Grant is expected to be out for another month as he is still struggling with a knee injury, although on-loan West Brom midfielder David Worrall is still available. The visit of Stanley is only the third time the two clubs have met, with both previous meetings in September 1960 ending in home wins.
