Chester have confirmed caretaker manager Wayne Allison does not want the job on a permanent basis.

Caretaker happy to fill in on a temporary basis

Chester City have confirmed caretaker manager Wayne Allison does not want to be considered for the job on a permanent basis. Allison has been placed in charge on a temporary basis after Simon Davies was sacked by the League Two strugglers on Tuesday. However, Chester chief executive Bob Gray revealed the 40-year-old feels it is too early to become a manager full time. "Wayne thinks the vacancy had come too soon for him at this stage of his career, and whilst he is happy to take charge of team affairs at the weekend, he has informed me that he won't be applying for the position on a permanent basis," Gray told the Liverpool Daily Post. "We have had a number of calls from interested parties, and already a number of CVs have been received by e-mail. "However, we are determined to make the right choice and we will take our time to ensure the correct decision is arrived at."
