Tranmere will be hoping to bring an end to their recent slump when they host Scunthorpe on Tuesday.
Rovers have failed to win any of their last four League One fixtures, seeing them slip off the pace in the play-off hunt.
Scunthorpe, though, have also faltered of late, losing their grip on top spot on the back of taking just one win from their last four.
Tranmere team news
Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore is boosted by the return of on-loan Stoke defender Ryan Shotton and captain Antony Kay ahead of the midweek contest.
Both players missed Saturday's 1-0 defeat at struggling Yeovil due to one-match bans but come into contention to face the Iron.
Jamaica international centre-back Ian Goodison played 90 minutes for his country last Wednesday in their 3-0 World Cup qualifier win against Canada in Kingston.
He subsequently missed the defeat at Huish Park after staying in Jamaica due to his girlfriend being pregnant.
Goodison could therefore miss out again, but the flu bug which has swept through Prenton Park has begun to ease.
Gareth Edds, Ian Moore and Ed Sonko have all been affected but Moore expects to have the trio available.
Scunthorpe team news
Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins could be without midfielder Matt Sparrow and defender David Mirfin for his side's trip to Merseyside.
Sparrow was substituted in the final minute of Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Leicester with an ankle injury, while Mirfin picked up a groin injury in the same game and both will face late fitness tests ahead of the clash.
Midfielder Grant McCann has suffered no ill-effects from a virus which kept him out of Northern Ireland's friendly against Hungary last week and should retain his place in the side.
Fellow midfielder Sam Togwell will return to the starting line-up following his one-match suspension against the Foxes, meaning Ian Morris could drop to the bench.
Defender Kenny Milne remains a long-term absentee with a knee injury.
