New Real striker insists he is different type of player to Ruud

Real Madrid's new signing Klaas Jan Huntelaar has dismissed comparisons with fellow striker Ruud van Nistelrooy. Huntelaar completed his 20million Euros move to the Spanish champions on Thursday, signing a deal until 2013 and the fee could rise to 27million Euros with add-ons. The 25-year-old has been signed as a direct replacement for Van Nistelrooy who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Comparisons between the two strikers are common with both players having represented the same clubs in Holland in Heerenveen and PSV, and both have impressive goalscoring records in the Eredivisie. Despite this the former Ajax front man is keen to highlight the differences between the two players.

Dismissive

He said: "Van Nistelrooy is a fantastic player but I am a different type of player, and will do what I can to score as many goals as possible. "Everything has happened very quickly. I was going to come at the end of the season but because of the injuries it was brought forward." The Dutchman will not be eligible to play for his new club until the transfer window reopens in January but will be looking to carry on where he left off in Holland. Huntelaar scored 79 goals in 97 league games for Ajax making him a target for a host of top European clubs. The striker's debut could be against Villarreal at the Bernabeu in what would be a must-win game for Real as they look to make up ground in the race for the title. Before Huntelaar returns to action he must first recover from an ankle ligament injury that has kept him sidelined since last month. He added: "It's still a little sore. Although it is not perfect, I hope to return to action soon."
