Barca midfielder eyes Villarreal game for comeback

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta could return for his side's clash with Villarreal on Sunday evening. The 24-year-old has been out for just under two months after injuring his right thigh muscle in the draw with Basel in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League. Despite Iniesta being a key player for the Catalan's the Spanish international has seen the club take La Liga by storm during his absence. Convincing wins over title rivals Sevilla, Valencia and Real Madrid mean that Iniesta will return to a side that fully expects to take maximum points at El Madrigal. In spite of the fact that the Barca graduate faces a fight on his hands to reclaim his starting berth Iniesta insists that he won't be rushed back. "The important thing is that I am feeling good and my injury is almost behind me," he told the club's official website. "Little by little, I am nearing the time when I can play a match which is what I most want. Let's see how I feel this week. When I feel in perfect shape to play, I will play." Barca's 2-0 win over Real in the Camp Nou saw the Pep Guardiola's men go 12 points ahead of their bitter rivals and eight points clear at the top of the table. Iniesta declares that his team-mates need to remain calm over the 'El clasico' result and warns that they need to stay focused. "We should not forget that although eight points is a significant gap there are still a lot more to play for. We need to remain focused on that," added Iniesta.
