Shot-stopper feeling good as he bids to return from injury
Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has begun training again as he targets a New Year return to first team action.
The Italian national keeper, who has been consistently linked with a move to Manchester City, suffered a torn muscle in his leg against Palermo at the start of October.
He has only played in four out of Juve's 16 league matches this season and has been replaced by former Arsenal goalkeeper Alex Manninger.
But he has now started training in preparation for a possible return in the New Year.
Feel good
"I think I'll be back in the New Year. Right now I feel good and I've even started training with the other goalkeepers again," said Buffon.
Juve have won eight out of their last nine league matches to now sit second behind reigning champions Inter Milan.
Following this weekend's matches, the season takes a three week break before starting up again on 10th January and Buffon hopes Juve can maintain their form to pull back the six-point gap with the leaders.
"It will be difficult to keep these results going because when you're doing well it's difficult to get better, you can only get worse," he said.
"We'll be happy just to maintain this form. We'll put pressure on Inter if we can keep this going."
