Unsettled Brazilian plots exit in the New Year
Fred has outlined his plans to leave Ligue 1 champions Lyon in the January transfer window and return to his homeland in Brazil.
The 25-year-old striker's current contract at Stade Gerland is due to expire at the end of the season.
Fred has struggled for regular first-team football under coach Claude Puel this term and is now seeking an exit.
He told
L'Equipe: "I have talked with the coach, the chairman, everyone. I have an opportunity to leave for Brazil in January and I have decided to say yes.
"Here, I don't play so I think the best thing is to cancel my contract. I will not extend it. That is my decision.
"I want to quit Lyon and go back to Brazil. I have made my decision and I won't change it. It is not a money matter anymore.
"I have two or three offers from Brazil. We are in talks. It would be for six months or one year."
