Inter coach believes Ibrahimovic is better than Ronaldo
Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho believes Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a better player than Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Chelsea manager's comments come just days after his side were drawn against Ronaldo's Manchester United in the first knockout round of the UEFA Champions League.
Mourinho insists that there are many players better than his countryman, including Inter's Ibrahimovic, who has been at the club for two years.
"When I think about how a player should be what comes to mind is players like Kaka, Ibrahimovic and (Lionel) Messi, who is a phenomenon and in two or three years will win the Ballon d'Or," Mourinho told
Italian TV.
Not the best
"Ronaldo is a good player but he's certainly not the best. He deserved the Ballon d'Or because his team won the Champions League and Premier League, he played and he scored. But for me, Ibrahimovic is better."
Ibrahimovic is highly regarded by Mourinho who cites the Sweden international as the ideal player.
Since joining Inter in the summer of 2006, the 27-year-old has made a huge impact at the San Siro and Mourinho is keen to see him continue to improve.
Aggressive
"Zlatan is in love with football, he has a big heart and he emotionally aggressive," added the Inter coach.
"When I made him play many matches in a row, for the Italian football world I was doing what destroys children.
"But what I was trying to do was build a team with mental strength and he is in the perfect condition to win the Ballon d'Or. He should win it."
