Addicks boss uncertain over Zheng's future
Charlton Athletic caretaker boss Phil Parkinson is uncertain over the future of midfielder Zheng Zhi.
The Chinese national team captain joined the Addicks in December 2006 initially on loan.
After a successful spell the club decided to make the move permanent in August 2007 for a fee of £2million.
This season has seen Charlton struggle as they currently prop up the Championship table lying five points from safety and without a win in 16 league games.
The club's poor league form has coincided with Zheng's injury problems with the midfielder making just two appearances for the club this season.
The midfielder's latest setback has seen him sidelined since October with a metatarsal injury.
The 28-year-old is expected to be back in training in January but by then he may no longer be a Charlton player admits Parkinson.
"Zizi is an asset for the club and I don't know whether he is going to move," he told the club's
official website.
"He's been injured for a long time so no one has been able to watch him play, but if he does (go), it will generate money, which hopefully we could use in other areas.
"As much as we target people coming in, we have two or three players for each position we are looking at relative to what kind of money is available.
"Zizi's situation will play a part in that."
