Cheltenham v Doncaster preview

Cheltenham are unable to include two new signings against Doncaster, who have no new problems.

Selection dilemma for Robins, but no new worries for Rovers

Cheltenham Town are unable to include two new signings against Doncaster Rovers, who have no new problems for the FA Cup third-round tie. Loan signings Chris Westwood and Lewis Montrose will not be available for the Robins at Whaddon Road, with Martin Allen having a slimmed-down squad to select from. Defender Westwood and midfielder Montrose both penned deals after the initial clash was due to take place earlier this month, making them ineligible for the game. Captain John Finnigan (heel) and defender Shane Duff (Achilles) have both returned to training but neither are expected to start against Rovers, with a place on the bench the best they can hope for. Centre-back Drissa Diallo and striker Damian Spencer both remain sidelined having sustained medial knee ligament damage, while Ashley Vincent will be looking to finally serve his one-match ban due to the recent postponements. Josh Low is cup-tied having featured earlier in the competition for Forest Green, David Bird has fully recovered from a knee injury, but Gavin Caines has a swollen knee.

Doncaster news

Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll goes into the game with only defender Sean McDaid and striker James Hayter long-term absentees. Rovers have had plenty of time lately to heal any minor niggles as they have not played a match since 28th December due to the recent cold snap. Richie Wellens, Gareth Roberts, Jason Price and Gordon Greer have all had the chance to shake off knocks. Rovers could draft returning striker Darren Byfield back into the squad after his loan spell with Oldham came to an end. Paul Heffernan was a doubt for the weekend's postponed game, but has overcome a bug and will be in the squad.
