Reggina in a battle between two struggling sides.
The hosts' cause was made all the more difficult once Carlos Carmona was dismissed five minutes before the interval for his part in an unsightly scuffle.
Chievo, though, had to wait until the third minute of injury time at the end of the game before Vincenzo Italiano fired an unstoppable effort into the top corner and handed them all three points.
Reggina remain rock-bottom, four points adrift of safety, while Cheivo also remain in the bottom three despite their success.
