Brett Ormerod has left Preston North End by mutual consent.
The striker joined PNE in 2006, enjoying a bright start with the club, before falling out of favour following the appointment of manager Alan Irvine.
Subsequently, the 32-year-old spent the past year on loan at Nottingham Forest and Oldham Athletic before his eventual release from the Lancashire club.
Shrewsbury have previously been linked with a move for Ormerod, but for now, the future of the former Southampton man is unclear.
