Doncaster Rovers striker Gareth Taylor has turned down the chance to join Scunthorpe United on loan. Taylor was offered the opportunity to link up with Scunthorpe for a month after Doncaster signed Steve Brooker and lined up a deal for Dean Shiels. The veteran forward has failed to score in 18 appearances for Rovers this season and O'Driscoll was happy for Taylor to head out on loan. However, the 35-year-old is keen to fight for his place at the Keepmoat Stadium and O'Driscoll has no qualms with the player's decision. "Nigel (Adkins, Scunthorpe United boss) spoke to me about him and I spoke to Gareth and at this particular time, Gareth wants to stay," O'Driscoll told the club's official website. "We would have been okay with Gareth going there for a month, with Brooker and Dean coming in, we could do that. "But, it's Gareth's prerogative and that's not a problem. That might change as things progress but at this minute in time, he is happy where he is."
