Blackpool have announced that Ian Harte's contract has been terminated by mutual consent.
The defender joined the Championship outfit on an initial one-month deal in December and impressed sufficiently to secure an extension.
However, Blackpool have now opted not to offer further terms and the former Leeds and Levante left-back has agreed to leave Bloomfield Road.
A statement on the club's
official website said: "Blackpool FC can confirm that defender Ian Harte has left the club after having his contract terminated by mutual consent."
Harte, who has 64 caps for the Republic of Ireland, made five starting appearances for Blackpool during his time with the club.
