Striker joins Blades after leaving Norwich

Italian forward Arturo Lupoli has joined Sheffield United on loan after ending his stay at Championship rivals Norwich. The move comes after the striker's season-long loan at Norwich from Serie A side Fiorentina was terminated early on the agreement of all parties. skysports.com revealed earlier on Monday that the player - who made nine starts and 11 substitute appearances for the Canaries, scoring five goals - was a target for the Blades. Sheffield United have now confirmed his move on their official website, taking the 21-year-old until the end of the season. His move comes after he became frustrated with his lack of opportunities at Norwich, where he had been signed by previous boss Glenn Roeder.

New Canaries boss Bryan Gunn told the club's official website: "We wish Arturo all the best. "He's been frustrated with the lack of chances he has had to start games and we had a chat last week and discussed the options which were suitable for him. "He's been a hero amongst City fans, with the goals he has scored for us and when he ran up to them after his goal at Charlton." Gunn has been busy increasing his attacking options in transfer window - bringing in Chris Killen, Alan Gow and Cody McDonald - which meant Lupoli felt he had fallen even further down the pecking order. Gunn added: "I know he's been frustrated with the lack of chances but after we signed Chris Killen and Alan Gow, he now feels further down the pecking order and we wish him well for the future."
