Former Rovers star bids for return
Matt Jansen has pitched up at Huddersfield Town in a bid to reignite his football career after failing to win a contract at Blackburn.
The 31-year-old had been training at Ewood Park in a bid to convince then boss Paul Ince he was ready for a return to the game, having quit football two years ago.
Jansen, whose former club Carlisle also offered him a trial, was at one time an international hopeful having only just missed out on a place in England's 2002 World Cup squad.
But a motorcycle accident, which nearly killed him, severely hampered his career and he decided to hang up his boots.
He is now though eager to make a return to football and Terriers boss Lee Clarke is ready to take a look.
"He has been training with us for a couple of days but he wants to start enjoying himself and get playing again and he needed some sort of platform to do that," Clarke told the club's official website.
"We have given him that opportunity but there is no pressure on either side. He has come in, is enjoying himself and will have a little run out in a reserve game.
"We are having a look at each other and will take things from there."
