Former Cheltenham boss to assist Glover
Keith Downing has accepted an offer to become Dean Glover's assistant manager at Port Vale on a temporary basis.
The former Cheltenham Town boss is keen to get back into football after leaving Whaddon Road back in September.
He feels the deal with Vale will suit both parties and expects the situation to be assessed again in the summer.
"It's a temporary move, but it works out well for both Port Vale and myself," Downing told
the Sentinel.
"I am there on a month-to-month basis and it will be reviewed at the end of the season.
"This will help me get my hand back in after five months out and I am looking forward to helping Dean Glover."
