Caig set to provide cover for Lee at Chesterfield

Chesterfield have agreed a short-term deal to bring veteran goalkeeper Tony Caig to Saltergate. Caig spent last year in the United States with Houston Dynamo, but is currently a free agent and has accepted a move to Chesterfield. The League Two club are awaiting international clearance for the 34-year-old, who numbers Carlisle United and Newcastle United among his former clubs. Spireites boss Lee Richardson is happy to be adding Caig to his squad to provide cover for No.1 Tommy Lee. Richardson told the club's official website: "Tony has a wealth of goalkeeping experience and is happy to come in for a short spell to support Tommy Lee and provide emergency cover should it be needed."
