Darlington battle to secure away point

Chesterfield moved into the League Two play-off places despite being held to a 0-0 draw by a determined Darlington. The home side had most of the possession but created few clear chances although Scott Boden was unlucky when his 81st-minute header bounced back off a post. Danny Hall also missed the target from close range but Darlington had their moments and Tommy Lee was forced to make diving saves to keep out long-range strikes from Franz Burgmeier and Pawel Abbott. Darlington had their backs to the wall for most of the first half but posed more of threat when they brought on young striker Curtis Main for the last 15 minutes. They could have taken all three points in the 89th minute when Jason Kennedy got behind the defence but Jared Wilson got across to make a superb block.
