Twente overcome Roda as PSV see off Utrecht

FC Twente extended their long unbeaten run with a 4-2 victory over Roda JC, while PSV Eindhoven beat FC Utrecht. FC Twente have not lost in the league since November and they were quickly into their stride against Roda JC as Romano Denneboom opened the scoring in the 17th minute. Roda drew level through Laurent Delorge nine minutes later but Douglas, Slobodan Rajkovic and Eljero Elia then found the target for Steve McClaren's side. Sekou Cisse's late consolation mattered little as Twente restored their four-point advantage over third-placed Ajax, who play on Sunday. PSV Eindhoven maintained their push for a European place with a 2-0 success against FC Utrecht which takes them up to fourth. Carlos Salcido broke the deadlock after 45 minutes and Timmy Simons added a second from the penalty spot early in the second period. NEC Nijmegen shrugged off the early sending-off of Patrick Pothuizen to come from behind and hold De Graafschap to a 2-2 draw. De Graafschap had initially made the most of their extra man as Ben Sahar, on loan from Chelsea, scored two goals. But Tim Janssen reduced NEC's arrears with 12 minutes remaining and Lasse Schone then grabbed a late equaliser. Sparta Rotterdam performed similar heroics as they hit back to win 2-1 at ADO Den Haag. Richard Knopper fired ADO in front midway through the first half and Sparta were reduced to ten men moments later when Jerold Promes was red carded. ADO could not extend their advantage and were made to pay as Joshua John levelled for Sparta four minutes from time and Dele Adeleye struck a winner.
