Hamilton Academical have agreed a deal to sign Czech keeper Tomas Cerny on a permanent basis.

Old Firm move ruled out for keeper

Hamilton Academical have agreed a deal to sign Czech goalkeeper Tomas Cerny on a permanent basis. Cerny has spent the past two seasons on loan at Hamilton from Sigma Olomouc and has impressed in the SPL this term. He has been linked with a move to Old Firm duo Celtic and Rangers, but has pledged to stay with Hamilton. A two-year contract has been agreed with the keeper and Hamilton are expected to pay in the region of £200,000 for the 24-year-old. Accies chairman Ronnie MacDonald said in the Daily Record: "Tomas will not be going to the Old Firm or anywhere else, I'm absolutely certain of that. "He's happy in Scotland and settled with Hamilton. He's been the best keeper in the SPL this year and as a club we want to continue going forward so why would we allow him to go? "He has a big future with Hamilton. We're delighted to have him here and believe he can only get better and better."
