Frenchman could leave on free transfer
Antoine Sibierski is waiting to find out if he will be offered a new deal at Wigan.
The Frenchman's current contract expires in the summer and as yet no new deal has been agreed at the JJB Stadium.
A host of clubs are thought to be monitoring the former Newcastle and Manchester City star's situation at Wigan, with Sibierski an attractive proposition on a free transfer.
Sibierski enjoyed a successful loan spell at Norwich earlier this season and a number of sides are believed to be waiting in the wings to sign the attacker if he becomes available.
The player's agent, Willie McKay, admitted Sibierski is waiting on Wigan to make a decision on his future, but expects no shortage of takers if he does leave the Latics.
"Antoine's deal expires in the summer and he could be offered a new contract," McKay told
skysports.com.
"We are waiting to see what Wigan have planned and we will take it from there.
"If he does leave I am sure there will be no shortage of takers for Antoine as he has played at the highest level throughout his career.
"He is a fit lad and at this stage of his career he just wants to be playing regularly and he has not been able to do that at Wigan this season.
"Antoine is a very clever player and he can play in up to five positions if need be.
"If he leaves Wigan I am sure he could do a good job for any team whether it be in the Premier League or Championship."
