Lions striker commits for two years

Gary Alexander has put pen-to-paper on a new contract to keep him at Millwall for a further two years. The striker has enjoyed a splendid campaign, scoring 13 goals to help the Lions challenge for promotion via the play-offs. There had been speculation that he could leave the club and he admits it was flattering to attract such attention. But Alexander insists he has always been committed to Millwall and was delighted to sign the deal. "It took a while to sort out and sign but it is done now so happy days," the 29-year-old told the club's official website. "It is nice to be linked with other clubs but at the end of the day I am a South Londoner and my family are all around here and I wanted to stay. "When Millwall offered me the chance to stay it was just a question of sorting out terms and getting it signed as soon as possible."
