Sky Sports is launching a survey to find out the best player ever to wear a Newcastle United shirt - and we would like you to get involved. We are asking fans of each of the 92 English League teams and 12 Scottish Premier League sides to nominate their all-time favourite footballers. Newcastle are a club not lacking in passion and therefore special qualities are required to earn the respect of the St James' Park masses. There is, however, not a shortage in supply of players who meet the necessary criteria. Perhaps Jackie Milburn is your icon after 'Wor Jackie' shot to striking prominence on Tyneside during his 14 years with the club? The Magpies have a number of other goalscoring heroes who could receive your vote from the likes of Hughie Gallacher, Len White and Malcolm Macdonald, through to Kevin Keegan, who also went on to carve a reputation as Magpies manager. But do you feel that the club's leading striker Alan Shearer is the best of the bunch? The former England and Newcastle captain may also have enhanced his reputation by returning on an SOS mission as the club's boss. Creativity is also appreciated in the North East, so maybe Peter Beardsley, David Ginola, Paul Gascoigne or Chris Waddle is your favourite? And what about the team that came within inches of winning the Premier League in the mid-Nineties? Do Les Ferdinand, Rob Lee or David Batty deserve to be applauded?
