Sky Blues confirm that assistant boss has left the club

Coventry City have confirmed that assistant manager Steve Kean has left his position at the club. The Scot still had 12 months to run on his contract but both parties have mutually agreed to go their separate ways. Kean has been manager Chris Coleman's number two at Fulham, Real Sociedad and most recently with the Sky Blues and the split will come as a surprise to many. The Cumbernauld-born former midfielder is highly regarded in the game and Coleman expects to see his long-term friend back in the game soon. "We have been together for six years and get on very well but we felt this was the right time for a change. It is totally amicable," he told the club's official website. "Steve remains an employee of Coventry City but should other opportunities arise for him he will be free to take them and I am sure that will happen sooner rather than later."
