Full-back happy to commit to League One club
Ian Harte has pledged his future to Carlisle United by signing a new two-year contract at Brunton Park.
The Irish full-back made three appearances for Carlisle towards the end of the season after joining on a short-term deal in March.
He had previously had a brief stint at Blackpool, having been released by Premier League strugglers Sunderland at the end of the last campaign.
Harte had no qualms in agreeing to stay with Carlisle and is looking forward to making an impact in League One next term.
Done and dusted
"Almost as soon as the season finished I was on the phone and talking to the gaffer (Greg Abbott), because I was always happy to come here," the 31-year-old told the club's
official website.
"The talks went really well, and it is all done and dusted now, which is good for everyone.
"I only got a month towards the end of the season, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. There's a real desire to play the game properly here and that's all you can ask for.
"I'm sure that there probably were other clubs interested, but that didn't really matter to me. You have to look at everything and a big part of it was the fact that I knew the gaffer from his days at Leeds, and I know Graham Kavanagh."
