Di Matteo wields the axe as he starts summer rebuild
Former Norway international Tore Andre Flo is one of six players set to be released by MK Dons.
The striker brought the curtain down on his Dons career by hitting the crossbar in the play-off semi-final penalty shootout defeat by Scunthorpe last week.
He will not be offered the opportunity to make amends for that mistake as his contract will not be renewed.
Fellow frontman Ali Gerba is also set to depart this summer, despite having notched 10 goals for Roberto Di Matteo's side last term.
Jemal Johnson, Alan Navarro, Flavien Belson and goalkeeper Nathan Abbey are also leaving stadium:mk as the Dons look to rebuild ahead of the 2009/10 campaign.
The club are still in negotiations with Miguel Angel Llera, Carl Regan, Danny Swailes and Mark Wright, while Luke Howell has agreed a one-year deal.
Chairman Pete Winkelman told the club's
official website: "I'd like to offer my sincerest thanks to all of the players that will be leaving the club, they have all brought their own qualities to what has been a fantastic couple of seasons.
"They have all given nothing less than 100 per cent during their time in an MK Dons shirt and have contributed to a truly memorable time in the club's emerging history.
"Football is about managing constant change, which inevitably results in players moving on and we must now adapt to keep moving forward."
