Barnsley goalkeeper Luke Steele has signed a new two-year contract with the Championship club.

Barnsley goalkeeper Luke Steele has signed a new two-year contract with the Championship club. The 24-year-old had threatened to quit the Tykes after spending the majority of the 2008/09 season on the bench, but he has agreed fresh terms. Steele recently claimed that he had attracted interest from a number of clubs, however, he is now tied to Barnsley until June 2011. The former West Brom player initially moved to Oakwell on an emergency loan in February 2008 before making the move permanent the following summer. Steele has also had spent time at Peterborough, Manchester United and Coventry.
