Northampton Town midfielder Giles Coke has agreed to sign a new contract with the League Two club.

Gray confident midfielder can be a key player next season

Northampton Town midfielder Giles Coke has agreed to sign a new contract with the League Two club. Coke was among several players to have been offered new terms at Sixfields following the club's relegation last season. But, while Jason Crowe has turned down an extension in order to sign for Leeds United, Coke has accepted the chance to stay with the Cobblers. "I am pleased Giles has decided to stay with us next season," Northampton boss Stuart Gray told the club's official website. "He is a player with a huge amount of natural ability and a lot of potential. I am sure he can be a big player for us this season. "He is one who has been monitored by some clubs in the Championship in the past and that doesn't happen unless you are a good player. "His decision to stay is another piece of the jigsaw for us and I think he will benefit from the experience we have added to the squad through Steve Guinan and Craig Hinton. "You need goals from all over the field if you are to be successful and Giles is one who can certainly chip in from midfield. I am pleased he will be with us and looking forward to getting back to work on July 1."
