Swedish defender brings a disappointing spell in Italy to an end
Olympiakos have completed the signing of experienced defender Olof Mellberg from Juventus.
The Greek giants have shelled out €2.5million (£2.1m) for the Sweden international.
Mellberg completed the formalities of the move on Tuesday, passing a medical and penning a three-year contract.
The 31-year-old centre-half only joined Juve from Aston Villa last summer but has opted to move on again after just 12 months in Italy.
Having struggled to get to grips with life in Serie A, and with Fabio Cannavaro heading to Stadio Olimpico this summer, Mellberg has agreed to take on a fresh challenge in Greece.
Olympiakos took the Super League title last season, booking a safe passage into the UEFA Champions League, and have recently installed popular Georgian coach Temuri Ketsbaia as their new manager.
