Marseille have agreed a deal to sign Argentine midfielder Lucho Gonzalez from Portuguese champions Porto.
Gonzalez is expected to cost Marseille a club record fee in the region of 17.5million euros (£15million) and he has agreed a four-year contract.
He is due to undergo a medical before sealing his move to France to become new l'OM coach Didier Deschamps' second signing.
Deschamps has already brought in Cameroon full-back Charley Fomen since replacing Eric Gerets as coach and has now agreed a deal for Gonzalez.
The 28-year-old has been a key performer for Porto since joining the club from River Plate during the 2005/06 season.
Gonzalez is also well known to Marseille fans after scoring the equaliser from the penalty spot in Porto's 1-1 draw at Stade Velodrome during the group phase of the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League.
