Sky Sports is launching a survey to find out the best player ever to wear a Macclesfield shirt - and we would like you to get involved.
We are asking fans of each of the 92 English League teams and 12 Scottish Premier League sides to nominate their all-time favourite footballers.
A final shortlist of seven has been selected from your votes and now all that's left to do is choose your favourite from the following.
Can you remember the showman exploits of striker Brian Fidler who was perhaps best remembered for his goal in the first ever FA Trophy final against Telford at Wembley watched by a crowd of 28,000 in 1970. Macc ran out 2-0 winners and became the first ever winners of the competition.
Will you go for Sir John Askey as he is affectionately known to Macclesfield fans? At home either on the wing or through the middle Askey holds the club's overall appearance record playing 672 times between 1984-2003, scoring 155 goals in the process.
Maybe you'll go for the goalscoring exploits of Steve Burr. The striker was prolific in his five years at the club and will be forever remembered for his hat-trick against then Third Division Rotherham in the second round of the FA Cup where a crowd of 4,500 people saw the Silkmen, then of the Conference, run out 4-0 winners.
What about midfielder Steve Wood? Another member of the Conference side of the 90s and early Football League days 'Woody' would put his body on the line for the Silkmen cause while also chipping in with a number of important goals.
How about the home-grown Danny Whittaker? The 28-year-old enjoyed five seasons at the Moss Rose between 2001-2006 before moving to Port Vale. The midfielder's composed demeanour earned him a move to League One where he currently plays for Oldham.
Another player to make a name a name for himself with the Silkmen was Jon Parkin. The striker netted 36 goals in just two years at the club before moving to Hull City. From there he switched to Stoke before settling with Preston where he currently resides.
Maybe you will plump for Jon Brain. The goalkeeper has come back from a serious leg break in his first season at the club in 2006 forcing him to miss the majority of the campaign. However the shot-stopper has returned to reclaim the number one jersey and has played nearly 100 games for the club.
Once we have received all your nominations, we will narrow down the selections for each side to the 10 leading candidates. You can then vote for your personal favourite.
After all votes are cast we will reveal the winners ahead of the 2009/10 season and crown the Macclesfield Town's greatest-ever player!
