Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee has confirmed his interest in Plymouth Argyle striker Steven MacLean.
McGhee also retains interest in striker's team-mate Paterson
Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee has confirmed his interest in Steven MacLean, in addition to the Plymouth Argyle striker's team-mate Jim Paterson.
McGhee is waiting to hold talks with Plymouth regarding a deal for Paterson and is also keen to sign MacLean.
The striker was the Pilgrims' record signing from Sheffield Wednesday in January 2008, but has scored just five goals in 40 appearances.
He barely featured during the second half of last season and McGhee is willing to offer MacLean the chance to secure a move to Pittodrie.
"MacLean and Paterson I have a genuine interest in," said McGhee.
"As regards those players I want it done as quickly as possible, but these things take time.
"There are other factors that come into play such as other clubs, agents and wives and girlfriends, who also have a say in these things."
