Potters boss not planning approach for Fulham midfielder

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has rejected speculation that he is looking to sign Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy. Reports had claimed that Pulis was willing to offer Murphy a player/coach role at the Britannia Stadium in a bid to lure the 32-year-old to the Potters. However, Pulis has dismissed the rumours and says he is not planning to make an offer for the former Liverpool schemer. "There is nothing in it," Pulis told The Sentinel. "Like a lot of stories involving us at the moment, there is nothing in it." Murphy has been an instrumental figure in Fulham's side since moving to Craven Cottage from Tottenham Hotspur two years ago. Birmingham boss Alex McLeish admitted he considered a bid for the player earlier this summer, but suggested Fulham were unwilling to sell.
