Jackson delighted to add Posh striker to squad on loan

Lincoln City have completed the loan signing of Rene Howe after persuading the Peterborough United striker to drop down to League Two. Howe has been a long-term target for Imps boss Peter Jackson but a deal appeared to have been shelved earlier in the summer, with the 22-year-old keen to play in League One. Posh had also accepted a £150,000 offer from an unnamed club for Howe, who had been placed on the transfer list at the end of last season following the club's promotion to the Championship. However, he has now agreed to move to Sincil Bank until the end of December and Jackson is delighted to have snared his man. "Everyone knows that I needed to bring in another striker and I'm delighted that Rene has agreed to join us," Jackson told the club's official website. "He's got a proven record at this level from his time with Rochdale and Morecambe and I hope he comes here and scores goals. "We've been chasing him for a while and have had to remain patient, but his arrival makes our squad bigger and stronger and opens up a number of attacking options. "He probably needs a little work on his fitness levels as he hasn't featured that much in pre-season for Peterborough, but I'm certainly looking forward to working with him."
