Teenage defender signs 12-month extension
Teenage Tranmere defender Ash Taylor has signed a 12-month extension to his contract with John Barnes' side.
The 19-year-old, who has been on Rovers' books for the past nine years, is now committed to the Prenton Park club until June 2011.
Taylor made his debut as a substitute in the final game of last season at Scunthorpe before being handed his first start at Yeovil on Saturday.
"Ash is a promising young defender," Tranmere boss John Barnes told the club's
official website.

"He played well throughout pre-season and deserved to make his full debut on Saturday at Yeovil.
"He has a good example of the hard work being done by the club with its centre of excellence and youth system and I'm pleased he has extended his contract."
Wales Under-19 international Taylor added: "I'm happy to have signed a new contract at Tranmere.
"I've really enjoyed being part of the first team squad this summer and hope I can be involved regularly this season."
