Duo exit Tangerines

Image: Holloway: Tough decision

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has confirmed he will not offer Mark Hudson and Adam Nowland long-term deals.

Duo must seek contracts elsewhere

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has announced his decision not to offer Mark Hudson and Adam Nowland long-term deals. The duo, both 28, signed on a non-contract basis on Monday night and featured in the Blackpool's 2-1 win over Crewe on Tuesday night with Nowland getting his name on the scoresheet. However, the performances were not enough to convince Holloway, who admits that he cannot guarantee the pair first-team football which he feels they need in their prime years. "Both lads are good honest pros and I wish them well in trying to find another club," Holloway told the club's official website. "I have no doubts that they will get fixed up but I promised them that I would make a decision before the end of the week and unfortunately for them, my decision is to let the players go. "At their age they need to be playing week in and week out and unfortunately I am not in a position to offer them that, but I would like to thank them for their efforts and I am sure everyone will join me in wishing them well for the future."
