Bristol City have confirmed the double arrival of Evander Sno and Alvaro Saborio on season-long loans.

Midfielder and striker added to City squad on deadline day

Bristol City have confirmed the double arrival of Evander Sno and Alvaro Saborio on season-long loans. Both deals have been on the verge of completion for days but the Bank Holiday Monday held up proceedings as the FA's offices were closed and unable to process the paperwork. On Tuesday however, the final day of the transfer window, the club confirmed that both players have completed their loan switches to Ashton Gate. Dutch midfielder Sno arrives from Dutch giants Ajax after being told by new boss Martin Jol that his first-team chances at the Amsterdam ArenA will be limited this season. The 22-year-old has spent time in British football with Celtic and returns to Ashton Gate after impressing there during Ajax's 4-0 pre-season friendly win. Costa Rica striker Saborio arrives from Swiss outfit FC Sion with a prolific goalscoring record in a signing that will no doubt excite City fans. The 27-year-old has 53 caps and 18 goals for his country while also netting 36 goals in 87 appearances in Swiss football's top tier. The Robins sit fifth in the Championship with 10 points from their opening five games and the double signing will provide boss Gary Johnson with extra resources to launch a realistic promotion charge.
