Striker aiming to grasp chance on trial with Championship side

French striker Fabrice Pancrate is determined to grasp his opportunity to earn a contract at Sheffield United. Pancrate is available on a free transfer after leaving Paris St Germain in the summer and is spending the week on trial at Bramall Lane. He trained with Portsmouth during pre-season and had also attracted interest from Burnley, with Owen Coyle wanting to see the 29-year-old on trial before offering a contract. A move to the Championship is now an option for Pancrate, who played for the Blades' reserves in Tuesday's 2-1 defeat by local rivals Sheffield Wednesday. "I have one week here," Pancrate told skysports.com. "They want to see me, so I will go for it. "I have always wanted to play in this country, and the Championship is a very good league, so let's wait and see." In addition to Pancrate, the Blades also gave Henri Camara, Elliot Omozusi and Facundo Zampa run-outs in the second-string clash with the Owls.
