Forster picks up player gong
Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope has been named League One's manager of the month for September.
Trollope's side enjoyed an excellent month, picking up 13 points from a possible 15 to move into third position in the table.
Following home wins over Millwall and Oldham Athletic, the Pirates went to Brentford to record a 3-1 victory at Griffin Park.
The only blip came at home to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend as Trollope's men were held to a 1-1 draw despite playing against 10 men in the second half.
However, the month ended on a winning note as Andy Williams' last-minute effort secured an impressive 3-2 triumph at Southampton.
Fantastic
Trollope told
Sky Sports: "I think, as always, it's an award for the whole club. The players have been fantastic over the month and have worked very, very hard to get all the results.
"The support we've had from the fans, both home and away, has been exceptional, so it's been a good month for us."
The Rovers manager is not getting carried away by his team's start to the campaign and is keen for his team to continue in the same vein.
He added: "We've been to a few tricky away grounds where it's difficult to get results at Brentford and Southampton, and we've managed to win there.
"I've been pleased with our away form. Our home form has been OK, but I think there's more to come at home.
"We've been making progress. I'm pleased with the additions we've made to the squad and there is lots of improvement still to make, but we're moving in the right direction."
Meanwhile, Brighton striker Nicky Forster has taken the player of the month award after scoring five goals in four appearances.
