John Sheridan has admitted he would like to bring winger Donal McDermott back to Chesterfield on loan.
McDermott has returned to Manchester City following three months with the League Two club, during which time his exciting performances and five goals made him a firm favourite with Spireites supporters.
The 20-year-old's last appearance was in the 1-0 home win over Barnet on Saturday.
Sheridan said: "I'm disappointed to see him go, and we will miss him. He's been excellent for us and he's given us a lot of energy.
"I tried to keep him but unfortunately he's got to go back. I will be trying my hardest to bring him back but it's all in Manchester City's hands."
