Branston sights on play-offs

Skipper targets maximum points from upcoming games

Burton Albion captain Guy Branston has challenged the club to force their way into the play-off picture between now and Christmas. Survival was the club's main objective at the start of their first-ever Football League campaign, yet a solid start sees the Brewers sitting 11th after 16 games, just four points off the top seven. The Brewers' next three League Two fixtures are against teams below them in the table, so Branston is hoping Paul Peschisolido's side can climb into contention. "I've always been taught to take games in blocks of four or five games and picking up so many points from them," Branston told skysports.com. "And that's what we're looking at now - we don't take it game by game, we take it in stages. "Looking at the games coming up, if we can pick up maximum points then it'll be a massive step towards the play-offs and that would be a great achievement for us. "We've been progressing nicely under the new gaffer and I think now we've really got used to League Two, so we can get even better and kick on again."
