Serie A side Lazio have completed the signing of Javier Garrido from Manchester City.

Defender leaves City after three seasons

Lazio have completed the signing of left-back Javier Garrido from Manchester City. Garrido is a ready-made replacement for Aleksandar Kolarov who moved in the opposite direction to Eastlands earlier this month. The signing of Kolarov pushed Garrido further down the pecking order at City with the Serbian and Wayne Bridge ahead of him in Roberto Mancini's plans. Spaniard Garrido struggled to establish himself at City since arriving from Real Sociedad in 2007 and Mancini is willing to let him move as he looks to trim his huge squad. "Garrido is a Lazio player. He was our first choice to replace Kolarov," said Lazio president Claudio Lotito.
