Sunderland midfielder returns to Ipswich on emergency loan

Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback has re-joined Ipswich on an emergency loan deal until January. The 20-year-old has returned to Portman Road after finding first team opportunities limited at the Stadium of Light. Colback was the Player of the Year at Ipswich last term during his first loan spell at the club and boss Roy Keane made no secret that he wanted to re-sign the versatile player. He has finally got his man as Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has let him go to get more playing time.

Very well

Bruce said: "Jack did very well at Ipswich last season and really enjoyed his time there. "This will give him a great opportunity to return and get some additional first team experience under his belt, and we look forward to having him back in the New Year." Colback has made just two substitute appearances for the Black Cats, being sent-off for two bookable offences on his debut in the 2-1 defeat against Wolves in the final Premier League game of last term. He then featured in the 2-0 Carling Cup win over Colchester this term which means he is cup-tied for Ipswich's fourth round clash against Northampton on 26th October.
