Striker joins Leicester on a three-year deal after Pompey exit
Leicester have completed the signing of one-time England international David Nugent on a three-year deal.
The striker has joined the ambitious Foxes as a free agent having seen his contract with Portsmouth expire at the end of last month.
Sven-Goran Eriksson has been busy in the transfer market this summer as he looks to build a squad capable of lifting the Midlands outfit back into the Premier League.
Nugent joins recent signings Kasper Schmeichel, Lee Peltier, Neil Danns and Sean St Ledger in making the move to the King Power Stadium.
High calibre
Eriksson told the club's
official website: "David is another player who has made it very clear that he wanted to play for us, which is a pleasing sign and shows that we are moving in the right direction.
"He is a high-calibre footballer and has played in the Premier League and at Under 21 and international level for his country.
"David is hard-working and will score goals for us, whilst creating opportunities for others.
"We are very pleased to have him on board as we continue to assemble a squad fit to challenge for promotion."
