Former Foxes boss is not expecting a call from Leicester
Mark McGhee told
Sky Sports News he is certain he will not be asked to fill the vacant manager's position at Leicester, following the departure of Sven-Goran Eriksson.
The 54-year-old walked out on the Foxes to take charge at Wolves in 1995, less than 12 months after arriving, before spells with Milwall, Brighton, Motherwell and most recently Aberdeen.
But the Scotsman - who has been out of management since being sacked by the Dons in December after only 17 wins in 62 matches - insists whoever succeeds Sven will be very fortunate.
McGhee said: "I don't think given the circumstances of when I left there I don't think I'll ever be asked back but it's a fantastic job and a fantastic club and a fantastic city to work in.
"Someone will be very lucky to get that job but I doubt very much if it's going to be me."
Temptation
McGhee, who lives in Brighton, also spoke of the temptation to join Portsmouth after Steve Cotterill took the reigns at Nottingham Forest.
And the 54-year-old revealed the vacancy on the south coast is one of particular appeal.
McGhee added: "It would be a terrific job for most people and certainly geographically, I was actually at their game on Saturday and it took me less than an hour to get back so from that point of view it would be perfect.
"But no it's obviously not at the top of my list of why I would want a job but it's a job that absolutely I would be interested in."
