Arsenal boss remains confident of a successful season
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he does not know in which position his side will finish in the Premier League this season but has assured the fans that the "team will fight".
The Frenchman was addressing the club's annual general meeting on Thursday and looked to allay the supporters' fear of an unsuccessful campaign following a disappointing start.
The Gunners have not won a major trophy since 2005 and lost key players Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri during the summer to Barcelona and Manchester City respectively.
The North London club are currently seventh in the table with 13 points from nine matches but will take to the pitch at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea on Saturday on the back of seven wins from their past eight matches.
Wenger concedes that he is not certain whether his team will finish in the top four of the league this season, but is adamant that his players will give their all until the end.
"The team is on the right way, it has a fantastic attitude and spirit," said the 62-year-old. "Where we will finish at the end of the season? Frankly, I don't know.
"But I know just one thing that these players we have at the moment are ready for a fight, because I see them every day and they are ready to have a go.
"Trust us, this team has qualities, this team will fight - and if you help us to do that I think we will have a successful season."
